For the 2019-20 school year, Nashville Hub will accept applications for fall projects and spring projects. Each high school academy coach will inform their teachers, counselors, and staff about this opportunity and the deadlines for submissions. Once submitted, a panel of judges will review and select the top applications for funding. All applications will be considered. Projects that are tied to needs or improvements outlined in the submitting academy’s annual review will be given highest priority. Bonus points will be awarded to projects incorporating literacy and/or student culture.
Award amounts will range from $750 to $2,500. Fall projects should propose to commence November 1, 2019, or later. Spring projects should propose to commence March 1, 2020, or later. All project products/services required will be procured through approved Metro Nashville Public Schools’ vendors only. All funds awarded must be utilized by April 30, 2020. A celebration event will be held in May 2019, to honor all Starr Award recipients and their projects.
The Nashville Hub funds these awards with net proceeds earned from Academies of Nashville Study Visits.
